About Me:

I am Jo Monteiro, a lawyer by training from Timor-Leste with great interest in public finance and development economics, informed and shaped by over a decade of direct engagement in policy and legislative design and implementation. I like learning other culture, history and languages. I also play basketball in my spare time. As a (future) policy maker, my motivation to research income inequality stems from a deep concern about how (un)equal economic opportunities can affect people鈥檚 lives and livelihoods 鈥 with a particular emphasis on advancing intra-and intergenerational equity in fragile small island developing economies.听
