The T膩tari Raraunga | Analytics & Institutional Research (AIR) team works across the university to collect and analyse meaningful data that supports evidence-based decision-making. Our work includes student and staff surveys, institutional research, and learning analytics鈥攑roviding insights that help UC improve academic quality and the student experience.
T膩tari Raraunga | Analytics & Institutional Research (AIR) is part of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio. We work alongside the UC community to make data and insights easier to access and use, helping to improve the student experience and support academic quality.
Our work brings together three main areas:
- Surveys & Reporting聽鈥 Gathering student and staff feedback, delivering dashboards, and ensuring data quality for informed decisions.
- Institutional Research聽鈥 Providing analysis and insights on student success, equity, and outcomes to support planning and improvement.
- Learning Analytics & ACE聽鈥 Using real-time engagement data to help teaching teams support students and enhance learning.
We also manage聽Student Evaluation of Teaching, offer聽Qualtrics survey support, and provide聽custom reporting and facilitate focus groups or workshops聽to capture meaningful feedback and insights.聽
Our goal is to provide UC with reliable data and insights that support informed decision-making.

UC has procedures, policies, and a survey calendar to survey our students. We do this in line with internal and external policies and laws. Our policy and procedures aim to protect the strategic importance of UC institutional research surveys and Student Evaluations of Teaching, as well as protect students from survey fatigue.聽
