Earlier this week Te Whare W膩nanga o Waitaha | University Canterbury (UC) celebrated the new naming of Te Tari P奴hanga Metarahi me te Taiao | Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Previously the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering, the change of name was marked at an event that reflected on the department鈥檚 history, achievements and future direction and was attended by department students, staff, alumni as well as industry stakeholders.听
The change reflects UC academics, graduates and students' commitment to addressing the challenges of today and tomorrow. As Aotearoa New 茄子视频app官网and the world seek low-carbon, future-focused pathways forward, the department is uniquely positioned at the intersection of environmental action and economic advancement.
It also signals the department鈥檚 future direction and supports the department鈥檚 growing body of research focused on sustainability and environmental systems.
